Based on Rio de Janeiro, founded by director and screenwriter Yuri Costa and producer Janyne Sousa, our mission is to tell Black stories infused with the invisible magic of everyday life. With more than 100 selections and 30 awards, BARCA ABERTA PRODUÇÕES moves firmly in its goal to intertwine Black protagonism with genre cinema — horror, thriller, fantasy, science fiction, and comedy. Through film, television and streaming, we develop projects with attention, care, and thoughtful management, balancing both an auteur and a commercial approach.
